The NSPC Grant Program

The National Security Policy Center (NSPC) accepts proposals for seed and bridge grants on a rolling basis. Seed Grants should spark new projects, while Bridge Grants are given to help an existing project to break through to the next level.

We seek to support projects that address critical national security challenges facing the United States. Grants will be made to support research, policy engagement, educational initiatives, and other projects that advance the NSPC mission. We support both individual and collaborative work across UVA that leads to better national security policy and professionals.

Amount

Proposals can range from $250 to $8,000. Our interest is in the match between the size of the funding request and the ambition of the project. We consider whether the funding is likely to yield additional intellectual or educational returns.

Eligibility

All UVA students, faculty and staff are eligible to apply. Proposals can come from individuals or groups.

Proposal Requirements

Inquiries should be submitted as a 500-word description of the proposed project that includes a project title, project aims and objectives, methodology (as applicable), project timeline, proposed activities, and simple budget. Please provide a CV/resume for all applicants. Proposals should be saved in PDF format and emailed to nspc@virginia.edu.
